Wellness by Design: Firas highlights the value shift in healthy living spaces at a panel discussion

Studies suggest homebuyers will pay 10–25% more for homes with certified wellness features or smart tech. Post-pandemic policies are shifting toward wellness in affordable housing and urban development.

Our Managing Director, Firas Hnoosh joined industry leaders on 30 April, Wednesday at the Property Technology ConFex | Construction Technology ConFex 2025 for a panel discussion titled: “Smart, Healthy and Well-Designed: Adding Wellness Value in Communities for Competitive Edge.”

The session spotlighted the growing demand for environments that prioritize both physical and mental well-being—an area long embraced in commercial real estate and now gaining momentum in the residential sector. From AI-powered air and water quality monitoring to biophilic design, smart lighting, and noise reduction technologies, the discussion unpacked how these innovations are shaping the next generation of homes and communities.

Firas emphasized that ” Public-private partnerships and incentives are emerging to drive innovation. Accordingly, healthy and well-designed buildings are no longer considered excess or nice-to-have, but Millennials and Gen Z, in particular, are prioritizing mental health and work-life balance, making wellness features a key decision factor and are willing to pay premiums for spaces that enhance sleep, reduce anxiety, and promote well-being. In commercial spaces, healthy environments support productivity, retention, and brand reputation. Companies view them as both cost-saving and employee-centric.”
